Wildlife on the Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands are truly unique and a trip I will never forget! Charles Darwin and his second voyage of his HMS Beagle revealed most of them to the human mankind and used it for his evolution theory. A large number of endemic species can be found there. Some of them, I was able to see with my own eyes: the Galápagos land & marine iguanas, the Galápagos giant tortoise, Frigatebirds, huge Waved albatross that travel the entire globe to lay their eggs here and, of course, the amazing looking Blue-footed boobies! A trip to the Galápagos will not be cheap, but we managed to get a great 50% last second deal the night before boarding our boat and could visit San Cristobal, Española, Floreana and Santa Cruz islands on a budget!
